Vanessa is a 2019 graduate of Stanford University where she was Pre-Med, majored in Human Biology (Brain and Behavior Concentration), and minored in Astrophysics and Astronomy. Her interests include studying existence in the universe, both the universe of our consciousness and the physical universe of astrophysics. Post graduation, she worked at NASA studying astronaut health during space flight and life in the early universe. She is also very interested in business and economic systems as drivers of our world and simultaneous creators of many of the inequalities we see nationwide and globally. She is excited to learn more about these systems as she begins work as a consultant at Bain and Company in NYC this fall. She hopes to combine her passions for science, business, and racial and social justice into a career that helps to create systems for a healthier and more just world. She is currently working with Stanford to design a course for the general education curriculum that addresses racial and economic inequality in the U.S. and provides students with tangible ways to tackle these inequalities.

Vanessa loves sports and at Stanford you could often find her on the court or field as an active member of the Stanford Cheerleading Team. Her hobbies also include good movies, books, and music, visiting art and natural science museums, spending time in nature, and yoga. She’s excited to complete her 200 hr yoga teacher training this summer!
