McCullough Biotechnology Entrepreneur Fellowship

Entrepreneurs in biotechnology need to have deep expertise in the natural sciences, but to succeed, they also need hands-on experience and knowledge to navigate the private sector. Academic training in STEM fields confers high-level technical expertise to undergraduates, but students often miss the opportunity during their college years to develop the business acumen needed to excel in entrepreneurial ventures. Endowed by Dr. Michael McCullough, this Fellowship is designed to expand the undergraduate experience beyond the lab bench, exposing students to the inner workings of the biotech startup ecosystem. The McCullough Biotechnology Entrepreneur Fellowship is a first-of-its-kind program seeking the highest-performing students with dreams of one day bringing innovations out of the lab and into society.

ASPT students and alumni are welcome to apply to the inaugural Biotechnology Entrepreneur Fellowship. Fellows will receive a competitive stipend while learning to contribute to the growth of a biotech startup. Selected applicants will receive an unmatched training experience in entrepreneurial skills, including but not limited to market analysis, product design, and growth strategies, as they readily apply these skills to one of our biotech startup partners.

Eligibility

All US-based undergraduate students who have completed an ASPT internship are eligible to apply for the Fellowship. Prospective students should demonstrate a passion for entrepreneurship and interest in starting a venture of their own.
